Third City Sanitation Task Force Meetings in select Ganga Basin Cities

As part of the process for preparing city sanitation plans (CSPs), key select Ganga Basin cities are in the process of conducting their third city sanitation task force meetings to take forward the plan for developing city owned CSPs.  

Preliminary surveys for preparation of Model CSPs: Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh) and Bodhgaya (Bihar)

The water team is in the process of developing model City Sanitation Plan (CSP) for one city in Uttar Pradesh (Bijnor) and another in Bihar (Bodhgaya). These CSPs will serve as a model template for the remaining Ganga basin cities for preparing CSPs.

CSE’s Initiative for FSM in Ganga basin cities of Uttar Pradesh & Bihar- State level meetings

Uttar Pradesh

Mr. Chandra Bhusan, Deputy Director General, CSE, Dr Suresh Kumar Rohilla, Water Programme Director, and Sumit Kumar Gautam, Mangar, Water Programme (Ganga) CSE had a state level advocacy meeting with Mr. Manoj Kumar [Principal Secretary (PS), Urban Development, UP government] and Mr. Vishal Bhardwaj [State Misison Director – SBM] in Lucknow on 24th August 2017. 

Training on Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM)

Date: November 06-09, 2017

Venue: Chuti resort, Joydebpur, Bangladesh

Center for Science and Environment (CSE) and Water Aid Bangladesh (WAB) are jointly organizing a 3 day training programme for capacity building of practitioners, academicians and government officials from Bangladesh on Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM). The goal is to create an enabling environment for mainstreaming FSSM in Bangladesh and across South Asia.
