What is MRC

The Media Resource Centre (MRC) is CSE’s outreach unit. It helps to disseminate information about CSE and its work, and to establish a sustained and interactive contact with mass media.

In 2010, the Indian government had declared 43 industrial clusters across the country as ‘critically polluted’. This list was based on a Comprehensive Environmental Pollution Index (CEPI) created by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Media Briefing Workshops

  • New Delhi-based research and advocacy body Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) organises day-long media briefing workshop in Dehradun on the subject of ‘Reporting on the Himalayan ecosystem: Challenges and opportunities’.


CSE organised a Regional Media Briefing Workshop​ on July 3, 2015 in Ranchi, Jharkhand​ on ​District Mineral Foundations (DMFs). DMFs were​ created recently by the Government of India for the benefit of communities impacted by mining.
