The Centre for Science and Environment is organizing "Toxic Air and Our Health: Dialogue with Doctors" in association with the Indian Medical Association and the Indian Council of Medical Research. This is a dialogue with the doctors and air quality regulators on Clean Air and Public health. The objective of this dialogue workshop is to raise policy awareness about the linkages between the air quality and our health.

This joint initiative will create a platform that will bring together the medical community, experts, policy makers, and civil society groups. This joint forum will help to set the agenda on what is needed to assess the current understanding of the link between air quality and health in India, what more can be done to deepen this understanding of the risk from air pollution especially vehicular air pollution which is the fastest growing problem in our cities; how people can be sensitised, and the policy initiatives needed to control the problem.

This half a day dialogue workshop will be held at the Gulmohar Hall in India Habitat Centre (2.00 pm – 6.00 pm) on August 31, 2011.
