Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi, India and the Sri Lanka Water Partnership is organising a day-long meeting on 'Conservation of water bodies in Sri Lanka' in Colombo today.
This would probably trigger an avalanche of brickbats, but I am going to take my chances anyway. I think its time that the Education sector in India opens up to a fresh set of quotas.

The Clean Air and sustainable mobility programme of the Centre for Science and Environment organised the Sri Lanka Country Workshop on Air Quality and Environmentally Sustainable Transport along with the Air Resource Management Centre (Air MAC), Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Transport in Colombo.
Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Supply and Drainage (MWS&D), Sri Lanka and Colombo based NGO, Lanka Rainwater Harvesting Forum (LRWHF) organised a three day training programme in Colombo on ‘Urban Rainwater Harvesting’ for Srilankan government officials between 27th and 29th April, 2011.
CSE organised its Second Country Media Briefing on “challenge of urban air quality and mobility management” in Colombo on April 27,2011, as a part of the South Asian Workshops series.

Almost every South Asian city today is reeling under severe air pollution and gridlocked urban traffic. Colombo has the advantage of having the sea by its side, but it is still struggling with polluting fuels, outdated vehicle technologies and rising numbers of private vehicles leading to massive congestion.
