Orientation Programme on Managing Urban Air Quality: Focus on Clean Vehicle Technology, Fuels and Mobility Management

The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organising a three-day orientation programme on Managing Urban Air Quality: Focus on Clean Vehicle Technology, Fuels and Mobility Management in New Delhi from August 6 - 8, 2014 for government officials from different cities of India. The objective of this forum is to promote good regulatory practices in air quality management, clean vehicle technology, fuels and management of in-use vehicle fleet and mobility management.

Septage Management-Towards City Wide Sanitation

Centre for Science and Environment recognises Social Impact Assessment (SIA) as an important tool to inform decision makers, regulators and stakeholders about the possible social and economic impacts of a development project. The 19th CSE Media Fellowships 2014: Industrial hotspots, environmental pollution and thereafter

In 2010, the Indian government had declared 43 industrial clusters across the country as ‘critically polluted’. This list was based on a Comprehensive Environmental Pollution Index (CEPI) created by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). In 2013, the Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) imposed a moratorium banning new industries in eight industrial clusters, after a survey showed very high pollution levels in these areas.

CSE invites application for its annual media briefing on Climate Change

New Delhi, India
November 6-7, 2014

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), the New Delhi (India)-based research and advocacy organisation, invites applications from journalists to attend its Annual Media Briefing on Climate Change. The briefing will be held in New Delhi on November 6-7, 2014. It will bring together media people and experts from countries of the Global South to discuss and debate a range of contemporary issues covering the science, politics, negotiations and impacts of climate change.

CSE has been conducting this annual media meet – but only for South Asian journalists -- since 2009. This year, the event has been opened up to journalists from other countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

CSE will support the travel and accommodation of selected participants.

Training programme for environmental regulators

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in collaboration with Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) and Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is conducting the training and capacity building programmes for State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) and Pollution Control Committees (PCCs).

CSE is organising four one week Advanced Training Programmes and two one month National Minimum Training Programmes during 2013-14 as per the collaboration with CPCB and MoEF.
