CSE questions recently released environment ministry report on air pollution sources, uncovers serious fallacies in it
The Union ministry of environment and forests has released a new six-city report on air pollution sources, titled ‘Air quality monitoring, emission inventory and source apportionment study for Indian cities’. Centre for Science and Environment’s (CSE) analysis of the report has brought out some extremely unpalatable truths…
About how the report crunches data, uses bad science and makes misleading pronouncements – especially about Delhi and its air. How the auto industry and oil companies are using it to thwart all efforts to slap stricter emissions standards and higher taxes on diesel cars. And how errant studies such as this one are being touted as roadmaps for the future.
CSE invites you to a press conference where it will release its analysis.
