CSE released its cover story on the rapid industrialisation in Chhattisgarh on November 15, 2010 at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The event was organised by Ekta Parishad. The cover was based on a detailed analysis of the proposed industries in the state, their land and water requirement and whether that state will be able to meet this requirement.

The proposed Asbestos Fibre Cement Roofing Sheet factory owned by M/s Balmukund Cement & Roofing Ltd., village Chainpur, block Marwan, District Muzaffarpur, Bihar has started an illegal construction of project before the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) accorded Environmental clearance.

EIA analysis of a multi project Special Economic Zone

The proposed project is the development of a Multi product special economical zone (MPSEZ) and a Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) proposed by M/s Sri City Pvt. Limited, Mr. Ravi Kanth from Hyderabad based NGO called Prakriti on behalf of the local communities of Andhra Pradesh has requested Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) to technically evaluate the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) document of:

  1. Development of a Multi product special economical zone (MPSEZ) and a Domestic Tariff Area (DTA) in an area of 2185 ha.
