  • Diesel car emissions will be reduced to the level of petrol emissions; diesel particulate levels from diesel cars, buses and trucks will come down drastically

It is shocking how bus transport that carries double the number of passengers in Delhi Metro is degenerating when Delhi has to reduce personal vehicle usage to curb pollution and congestion

This can seriously compromise the effectiveness of this emergency action needed to control the peak pollution levels during winter.  Design the programme to make a difference to the air quality of Delhi. 

  • Bengaluru is in the grip of rising air pollution. Official ambient air quality monitoring has shown 57 per cent increase in particulate matter in just four years. In more than 85 per cent of monitoring locations, the levels have exceeded standards

  • Landmark decision from the Chief Justice bench of the Supreme Court stops registration of luxury diesel cars and SUVs in the NCR; bars entry of pre-Euro III trucks into Delhi; doubles the environment compensation charge on all trucks entering Delhi; and mandates all taxis in NCR to convert to CNG. It has also asked for stringent action on trash burning and road dust.
