International Workshop on National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance for developing countries

The Food Safety and Toxins Team at the Centre for Science and Environment organized a two-day International workshop to address animal and environmental aspects of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in the National Action Plans of developing countries. The workshop was held in New Delhi, during Nov 10−11, 2016.

Training programme on Environmental Audit

Date: November 12 to 13, 2016, Goa

Centre for Science and Environment is organizing a two days training programme in collaboration with Goa State Pollution Control Board on Environmental Audit. The programme is scheduled between November 12th to 13th, 2016 and the venue is Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa.

The Faecal Sludge Management Online Course (FSM OLC) was initiated by UNESCO-IHE, The Netherlands and implemented with worldwide partners: Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology/Department of Water and Sanitation in Developing Countries (EAWAG/SANDEC), Switzerland; Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand; Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh; University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa; International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE), Burkina Faso and Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), India.

This quick assessment has been carried out by Centre for Science and Environment to ascertain how switching from biomass-based solid fuels to cleaner liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for cooking of midday meals in anganwadis (day care centres that facilitate informal learning under supervision) in Bihar can help reduce exposure of children to toxic air.
