The Centre for Science and Environment is known for its rigorous and scientific policy research and advocacy on environmental issues.

The Green Rating Project under the Industry and Environment division of the Centre carries out environmental performance ranking of heavy industries and undertakes research and advocacy on cross-cutting industrial pollution issues and regulatory reforms. We need applicants for the following positions for this unit:

Programme Manager:
The job entails providing intellectual leadership to the unit and taking a lead role in research, writing and advocacy on environmental performance of Indian heavy industry sectors. The candidate should have excellent report writing and coordination skills, with ability to work under pressure and handle multiple activities and projects concurrently.

He/she should have good analytical and presentation ability, independent view and be well-versed with environmental problems facing heavy industry sectors in India. The candidate should be able to lead a team of researchers and periodically prepare reports on the project’s activities to funding agencies. 

Educational Qualification and Experience:
The desired candidate should have minimum 6 to 10 years of professional working experience on environmental issues in heavy industry sectors with proficiency in research and writing reports. He/she should have published high quality reports, papers and articles on the relevant area. Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), good numerical aptitude and ability to handle calculations in MS Excel is a must.

Candidates should have advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in engineering, environmental policy or science. Engineering graduates with a relevant combination of professional and policy experience may also apply.

CSE has an excellent institutional structure and facility in place to undertake high quality practical research and advocacy. Salary will  be commensurate with experience.
