Programme Managers and Senior Research Associates for Training and Community Support Programme

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is an established non-profit institution known for its rigorous and scientific policy research and advocacy on environmental issues.

CSE is also engaged in training different stakeholders not only in India but also in South Asia (Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Pakistan).

The Training and Community Support (TCS) Unit conducts research and advocacy on cross-cutting industrial pollution issues, provides technical support to South Asian regulators on pollution issues, and works very closely with State Pollution Control Board and other regulatory institutes including NGOs on a range of environmental and regulatory issues. Training government officials, academicians, regulators, implementers and students is an integral part of the programme.

CSE is expanding its Training and Community Support Team for its work in India, South Asia and Africa for which it requires:

a) Programme Managers (2 in nos)
We need Engineers and Post Graduates in Environmental Science with at least 8-10 years of working knowledge of EIA/SIA report preparation and project management. Should be able to lead a team to develop training modules and kits, organise seminars, workshops and international conferences on various themes and help converge multitude of views on one platform. Experience in biodiversity impact assessment and coastal impact assessment would be an asset. Liaising with donors and fundraising will also be part of the job.

b) Senior Research Associate (2 in nos)
We need Engineers and Post Graduates in Environmental Science with at least 3-5 years of experience in research and advocacy, with working knowledge of EIA and SIA report preparation, air quality modeling. Candidate will be required to document best practices in EIA/SIA processes, prepare sector specific training manual and should be able to train people on the modules developed.

Both positions require strong networking and liaising skills, willingness to travel and fluency in both written and spoken English.
