A 3rd Meeting of the 'Alliance for Urban Transformation' was held on 27th July 2020 under the Chairmanship of Dr Kajal (IAS) Director, Directorate of Local Bodies, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. CSE, UNDP, UNICEF, PSI, Agha Khan Foundation were present in the meeting.
The objective of the meeting was to access the progress of various activities implemented by Development Partners with respect to COVID-19 response and the kind of support needed by various organization. CSE updated the COVID-19 support through PPE kits and Handwash Stations in 8 cities namely Lucknow, Prayagraj, Bakshi Ka Talab, Unnao, Gangaghat, Bithoor. Bijnor and Chunar.
UNDP talked about the formation of Economic Recovery Alliance to bring various Development Partners together and help the State in reviving from the post COVID-19 situation. UNDP also updated about project SAMBHAV with collaboration with UNICEF for livelihood support for urban poor.
PSI updated about its programme support to private operator in registration, health check-up of sanitation workers focusing in Lucknow and Kanpur. PSI also updated about their proposal to roll-out malasur campaign in Lucknow and Kanpur for generating awareness on effective faecal sludge and septage management in the non-sewered areas of the city
Agha Khan Foundation updated about their initiatives in Bahraich and Lucknow Low Income Settlement, IEC and capacity building programme.
