CSE Webinar: Weather and the Farmer

The webinar opened with a presentation of the policy recommendations from CSE's report on agrometeorological advisories. The discussion that followed revealed that many experts' personal experiences tallied with the issues identified in the report, such as the imperfect reliability of advisories, and issues with sharing of data. It also revealed the depth of ongoing work to improve advisories across the public, private and NGO sector. To address the solutions to the scale of the challenge, much more policy and fiscal support must reach such initiatives, with responsibility for such support shared across levels of government.
