COP 16 and after: Bring Back the 'Dying Wisdom'

An apocalyptic future awaits the Earth. By 2050, around 75 per cent of the world’s population will be facing drought. The 16th Conference of Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), which ended in Riyadh mid-December, has brought the spotlight back on this predicament – the consensus is that we must go back to our traditional wisdom, and look for solutions by aligning it with modern technologies.

More than 25 years ago, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) had produced a seminal study on India’s traditional water management systems. Dying Wisdom, as it was named, has remained an essential anchor for many of us. Maybe the time has come to go back to it and all that it stood for.

Join us in a webinar to discuss the learnings from COP 16, and how to deal with the future as we see it.
