CSE recognised as Centre of Excellence (COE) by the Indian government

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Government of India has recognised CSE as a Centre of Excellence (COE) in the area of sustainable water management.

CSE has been involved in assisting the Ministry in policy research, capacitating municipal functionaries through tailor-made training programmes in three key areas—septage management, urban lake management, and water sensitive design and planning. Under the mandate, CSE has developed and published Policy Papers on ‘Mainstreaming Energy Efficiency in Urban Water and Wasterwater Management in the wake of Climate Change’ and ‘Water Efficiency and Conservation in Urban India’. Furthermore, we have also developed India’s first Practitioner’s Guide on ‘Water-Sensitive Urban Design and Planning’; ‘Septage Management’; ‘Green Infrastructure’; ‘Water Efficiency and Conservation’; respectively. These research documents will be used for advocacy, training materials development and new training programmes to be offered in 2017 and coming years.
