EIA Analysis for the Proposed Expansion of Sponge Iron Plant in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) carried out an analysis of the EIA report of the "Expansion of the sponge iron plant to produce 97,000 TPA of M.S.Billets and 65 MW Captive Power" in Gerwani Village, Raigarh, Chattisgarh, proposed by Salasar Steel and Power Limited. The analysis was carried out on the request of Pushp Jain of Environmental Impact Assessment Resource and Response Center (ERC). Public Hearing for the Project was held on Noverber 29, 2009.
