High Performance Buildings

CSE’s Sustainable Habitat Programme organized a training for engineers, architects and planners.The training aimed to capacitate the participants on construction practices that reduceresource use in buildings and their overall environmental impact. 

A comprehensive programme module discussed sustainable materials, integrated green design, water conservation and efficient management techniques, principles of insulation, micro climate creation and adaptive thermal comfort, indoor air quality, Energy Conservation Building Code (Residential), daylighting principles and exercise on solar shading devices and Building Integrated Management. Hands-on building simulations was also provided to make the participants understand how all these factors play in a building and can be optimized.

Training course, content, method of delivery and diversity of experts were much appreciated by the participants. A tour to demonstrate how these construction practices have been adopted in AAETI was also conducted to conclude the programme.  About 95 participants in total complimented AAETI as a facility and its capability to demonstrate green building design and operations.
