Co-Founder Director of Keystone Foundation, also the Managing Director of Last Forest Enterprises, a social enterprise incubated by Keystone. Was on the Board of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement (IFOAM-Organics International) from 2011-2017. He was also a member of their International Committee on Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS) which encourages the development and adoption of simple and different approaches to guaranteeing organic produce, for small producers and harvesters. Also part of the team to initiate the PGS in India, which the Govt of India now recognizes and promotes. Last Forest is also a guaranteed member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), which ensures that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) permeate both the customers and the producers
Stan has over 40 years of experience in the field of human rights and development. In 1986, he co-founded ACCORD, to mobilise the adivasis of the Gudalur Valley, Tamilnadu to fight for their social, political and human rights. In 2000, he founded Just Change, an international cooperative linking producers, investors and consumers in mutually beneficial ways – rebuilding the notion of community and regaining power in the marketplace. He also founded the Just Change India Producer Company, which helps community groups directly trade with each other.
Tapas is the Chief organiser, Sundarban Jana Sramajibi Mancha and also Secretary of Sundarban Parjatan Pariseba Samobay Samiti Ltd., a cooperative society. He founded Farmer Producers Organisation (FPO) in Sundarbans, of which he is also a CEO. This FPO is being registered under National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED), called Sundarban federation Honey & Natural Products Producer Company Ltd.
