Integrated Wastewater and Septage Management

The School of Water and Waste under Centre for Science and Environment’s (CSE) Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute (AAETI) invites applications for its three-day residential training programme on Integrated Wastewater and Septage Management (IWSM). This training is a part of series of activities envisaged under ‘Capacity building initiative focusing on making Ganga basin cities water sensitive’, supported by the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

Training Fees
FOR INDIAN PARTICIPANTS
Rs. 28,000 for single occupancy & Rs. 25,600 for double occupancy room.

FOR INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPANTS

US $760 for single occupancy & US $590 for double occupancy room
Limited number of partial*, fellowships available. *Partial fellowship will not cover travel costs between Delhi and the participant’s respective location. Apart from that, it will cover all other costs. Please note: Nominated government officials are exempt from paying the training fees.
The Training
The training will focus on developing an understanding of urban sanitation systems as a whole, and planning approaches at city/town level on how to manage a city’s wastewater, faecal sludge and septage. It will connect with the priorities under national missions of SBM 2.0, AMRUT 2.0, etc. Some key highlights:
• Understand the fundamentals of sanitation systems in a city: How to approach wastewater and faecal sludge management for different classes of cities, with sewered or non-sewered sanitation systems

• Critically appraise the complexity in assessment and planning of solutions at city level: Exposure to interception and diversion-based sanitation systems and faecal sludge management systems assessment planning

• Guidance for planning, designing, monitoring and optimising an entire FS management chain through technical and nontechnical aspects

• Learn the planning and design aspects of treatment systems for faecal sludge treatment

• Differentiate between a range of resource recovery options from faecal sludge and key criteria for their selection
