Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) invites you to a public meeting on District Mineral Foundation (DMF) on September 12, 2019,in Raipur. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the improved scope of DMF implementation in various mining districts of Chhattisgarh following the latest amendments in the Chhattisgarh DMF Rules.
CSE has been closely reviewing and working on DMF implementation in various states, and Chhattisgarh is a key state in this regard. We believe that the latest amendments in the Chhattisgarh DMF Rules are important, and uphold the inclusive nature of DMF by including mining-affected people in the DMF governing body, and create scope for better planning, transparent operation and overall effective implementation of DMF.
The meeting will bring together civil society members, organizations and experts working on socio-economic, human development, community rights, micro-planning and related issues in the mining districts, and the media. This will provide the platform to initiate a process of collective engagement to make DMFs successful in various districts of Chhattisgarh, so that the lives and livelihoods of mining-affected people can be improved in a long term and sustainable manner.
This invitation is open to journalists working in Chhattisgarh. CSE will support the travel and accommodation of a few selected journalists – preferably from the mining districts -- who would like to travel to Raipur to attend the meeting. Interested journalists can mail their details to the undersigned in the following format:
