Programme Support of FSSM in U.P. – Meeting with U.P. State Sanitation Workers Commission on 25th June 2019

As part of our initiative to identify and engage with all the relevant stakeholders for mainstreaming effective sanitation in U.P., we had a meeting with Mr SurendraNath Valmiki who is the Chairman of State Sanitation Workers Commission responsible for the welfare of sanitation workers and rehabilitation of manual scavengers. He in-principal agreed for collaboration in developing an action plan for formalizing of sanitation workers involved in desludging of Faecal Sludge. He was apprized on the issues related to the uptake of use of Personal Protective Equipment& issues related to health and hygiene. He also in-principle agreed for a workshop for sensitization of all the key stakeholders in the sector.
