Meeting with UNDP for inclusion of sanitation workers in Economic Recovery Alliance

Dr Rohilla and CSE-PSU team had a meeting with the State Lead UNDP (Uttar Pradesh) on 11^th May, 20. UNDP is proposing an Economic Recovery Alliance in the State of Uttar Pradesh to provide synergy to the efforts in livelihood support to the informal / daily wagers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

CSE proposed to include sanitation worker, informal staff in FSSM sector and waste management sector to be also a part of this effort. During the COVID lockdown, the livelihood of many sanitation workers engaged in informal sector have been majorly impacted which was highlighted by CSE team.

CSE aims to collaborate with UNDP to bring out a framework to ensure sanitation workers are not neglected and are included / have access to all the Govt. schemes.
