Brief on Minutes of the 7th- CSTF Meeting

The 7th CSTF meeting started with a brief review of the actions taken on the commitments made in the 6th CSTF meeting. Mr. Durgeshwar Tripathi (Executive Officer BNPP) briefed about the shortfalls and achievements despite the challenges faced due to the pandemic. Following points and commitments were made on the agenda of 7th CSTF meeting:

  1. Malasur Awareness Campaign: As decided in the 6th CSTF meeting this campaign had to be started as Bijnor Nagar Palika Parishad in October but it couldn't happen due to various reasons. BNPP will now kick start the Malasur awareness campaign in Bijnor city and CSE will provide the necessary IEC material for the campaign. 22 March 2021 World Water Day was decided as the day to complete the 5-week campaign and brief in media about it.
  2. Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) Bye-Laws- Due to the pandemic in 2020 FSSM bye-laws could not be passed and gazette in the city. BNPP committed to pass these bye-laws and push it for proper gazette of the bye-laws in Bijnor City in the upcoming council meeting.
  3. Co-treatment of faecal sludge and septage at 24 MLD STP: CSE informed the members that Bijnor`s Co-Treatment project has been moved to its construction phase. Uttar Pradesh Project Corporation Limited has been given the project for execution. It is the first Namami Gange funded Co-Treatment project in UP. BNPP committed to license private desludging contractors before the project is completed.
  4. Pilot Decentralized Waste Water Treatement System (DWWTS) at Palika premises: As part of the CSE`s commitment in technically helping BNPP in applying water conservation techniques, CSE has submitted a DPR on DWWTS at BNPP premises. CSE representative gave a brief on the pilot DWWTS to CSTF members. BNPP has committed to implement the project in the coming financial year.
