National Dialogue on Renewable Energy for an Equitable Green Transition

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organising a National Dialogue to bring together the stakeholders and participant-practitioners of the clean energy ecosystem in India: the aim is to push for reforms to create opportunities for a clean energy agenda, by promoting discussions and sharing of learning between practitioners, policymakers, civil society organisations, and agriculture- and farm-based community institutions.

The Dialogue, thus, will focus on issues and concerns such as implementation barriers to rural and urban solar energy programmes; scaling of biomass-based and rooftop solar energy solutions; promotion of decentralised business models; and a push for end-stakeholder/user-led clean energy development.

Join us to explore policy transitions in renewable energy to drive sustainable development.

Thematic Areas

  • Prioritising enhanced energy access for rural consumers, empowering communities, and providing for a rural livelihoods-based clean energy ecosystem
  • Opportunities for solar in farm-side applications such as localised micro-grids and in the use of new business models for agriculture and energy generation from solar as well as CBG-based projects
  • Enabling state agencies to develop solutions in the clean energy sector in the light of the 2030 targets
  • Current patterns of land-use change vis-à-vis solar energy systems – requirement of site assessment for large-scale solar projects, and ensuring ecological and community inclusion in planning
  • Enabling financial mechanisms to scale solar-based solutions in the farm sector -- provision for softer loans and additional subsidies-led models for cooperatives and farm-side institutions
