Dear readers,

The 50th anniversary celebration of the Stockholm conference should be about our common future, but rich countries are still not listening. Some hope arises as major fossil fuel polluter ExxonMobil may face a trial for its emissions.

At the Bonn Climate Conference last week, there was a tense stand-off on ‘Loss and Damage’.

India faces major challenges in achieving 11 of 17 Sustainable Development Goals. India recorded 280 heat wave days across 16 states in 2022 — most in this decade, according to our new State of India’s Environment in figures. And the plastic litter problem in India is worsening due to extreme weather events.

The Kerala state transport board plans to purchase 50 electric and 10 hydrogen-fuelled buses.

Our upcoming online training will be held from July 25 to August 5, titled An Introduction to Climate Change: Science, Politics and Impacts. You can register here.
