Floods in Assam and Bangladesh are affecting millions of people.
Every seventh Assamese is now a flood-victim, with 4.2 million people affected by floods across the state.
It will take Assam 943 years to protect itself from floods at current pace of adaptation measures.
For India as a whole, 23,700,000 people were forced out of their homes in 2021 due to climate change, according to the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre.
