Dear Friend,
Achieving SDG goals on water and sanitation is a major challenge for countries and local bodies across Global South due to limited resources and rapid urbanisation. India has embarked on major reform agenda with focus on provision of water supply to all by 2024. Recently announced - SBM 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0 - national flagship programmes are a step forward in this direction. However, the key challenge is to ensure convergence of various programmes to keep pace with rapid urbanisation and change at scale. This would require capacity building of managers and practitioners as well as enabling framework to engage with citizens at large and private sector.
SWW organised the second ‘Online Master Class cum Impact workshop’to identify impact stories - by individual alumni (7500+), programme / institutional partner. Ten ‘Water champions’ were shortlisted by jury to inspire and guide managers and practitioners at large.
The online web compendium of SWW - MOUNT and C-GINS are regularly updated with case studies, events and resources to sensitise stakeholders at large. Keeping up with reform agenda SWW has identified key areas and has developed tailor made professional skill building training programmes. We have adopted hybrid system of teaching – learning including state of art self -paced online trainings followed with advanced short (4 day) residential programmes including field exposure visits.
In this endeavour, we are pleased to put forward this bi-monthly newsletter exhibiting updates, publications, training, events and more.
We look forward to hearing impact stories of change from all our alumni, partners and readers.
Your suggestions and feedback are welcome
