Dear Friend,
CSE aims to develop a demand driven water programme and the School was launched in 2017 – as a teaching - learning and innovation centre that was designed to find appropriate and affordable solutions for key problems of India and the global south to build capacities of managers and practitioners.
SWW has been working closely with key sector players (both government and private), donors, NGOs, academics and developed partnerships as part of this initiative. In short span of 5 years SWW, emerged as one of the recognised centres promoting policy principles, innovative technologies and implementation strategies to help lay the foundations for a water and waste prudent society. It has delivered 300+ tailor made trainings and have 7500+ alumni – an active community of practitioners across global south. The recently launched ‘SWW – NMCG Capacity building initiative on making Ganga basin cities water sensitive’ has set the stage for mainstreaming water sensitive urban design and planning across India.
After 11+ years of leading the Water Programme at CSE and as the first Academic Director leading the SWW, I am now stepping down to explore new professional opportunities and challenges in the sector. I take this opportunity to thank all my colleagues, programme partners, donor and alumni who have been part of this journey.
In this endeavour, we are pleased to put forward this bi-monthly newsletter exhibiting, updates, publications, training, events and more.
We look forward to hearing impact stories of change from all our alumni, partners and readers.
Your suggestions and feedback are welcome
