BACKGROUND
Out of the total 59 FSSM plants (Co-treatment and FSTPs), 57 plants across 53 ULBS are now physically completed. Around 30 plants have been handed over by the UP Jal Nigam to the respective ULBs. As the plants are now being handed over to the ULBs, the responsibility to operate and maintain the plant has also become an immediate requirement given that this is the first time ULBs have been entrusted with the 0&M of faecal sludge management plant.
Therefore CSE in association with Department of Urban Development (DoUD) is organizing a training on Operations and Maintenance of FSTPs and Co-treatment plants for ULB officers. Through research and field experience, CSE has developed a 1.5 day training module which will provide holistic idea on plant operation and daily & periodic maintenance of the plant. To provide hands-on experience to the participants, the training is clubbed with an exposure visit.
