Co-organized by the Renewable Energy Department, Haryana, HAREDA and Centre for Science and Environment (CSE)
Date: March 14, 2013
Venue: Akshay Urja Bhawan, Sector 17, Panchkula
The Centre for Science and Environment along with the Renewable Energy Department, Haryana and HAREDA is organising an "Orientation Workshop on Sustainable Buildings" with a special focus on the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) on 14 March 2013 in Panchkula, Haryana.
The workshop aims at disseminating and raising awareness on various aspects related to sustainable buildings with focus on improving their energy efficiency through implementation of the ECBC. At present, the city regulators are now dealing with a wide gamut of regulatory tools that have some bearing on resource efficiency of the buildings. In addition the real estate growth across India and in cities of like Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panipat etc. is having pertinent impact on mobility, water, resource use, neighbourhoods etc. and it is only set to grow.
The workshop would entail detailed discussions on these issues amongst city officials, eminent architects, green building experts and other stakeholders. This would enable CSE to highlight specific issues, concerns and way forward for the state.
The workshop is expected to be attended by representatives from Haryana’s Renewable Energy department and HAREDA as well as other related departments and agencies. A few eminent private architects, real estate developers and energy auditors etc. would also be participating in the workshop.
