Project Overview
 

• BWSSB commenced tertiary treatment of secondary treated water from Raja Canal STP for industrial use.
• Joint project between BWSSB and Karnataka Industry for the Aerospace Park near Kempegowda International Airport (Asia’s largest aerospace hub).
• Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP) located at IT Park Industrial Area, Devanahalli.
• Commissioned in 2017 with a capacity of 45 MLD.

 
Implementation Cost
 

• 18 km dedicated pipeline connects Raja Canal STP to TTP.
• Total project cost: ₹114 crore, funded by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board.
• BWSSB operates the plant; O&M contracted to SUEZ.

 
Current Operations
 

• Operating below capacity, treating only 5 MLD due to low industrial demand.
• Treated water stored in a 45 MLD sump and supplied as per demand.

 
Industrial Usage and Pricing
 

• Primary use: Horticulture within industrial premises.
• Water charges:
• ₹25/KL (end-to-end distribution).
₹18/KL (direct procurement by industries).
