DECEMBER 9, 2020 I 4.00 PM I PLATFORM: ZOOM
This Round Table is a part of a series being organised by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) on some key issues in renewable energy (see the proceedings of the earlier Round Tables on https://www.cseindia.org).
India has seen strong progress in renewable energy, particularly in utility-scale solar energy. However, rooftop solar project deployment has lagged behind. The market potential of rooftop solar is estimated at 124 GW, and the official national target is 40 GW by 2022. But the sector has managed just about 6 GW; the covid-19 crisis has also delayed deployment.
CSE invites you to its third RE Round Table, which aims to discuss the barriers in deploying rooftop solar, focusing on the challenges faced by distribution utilities in integrating rooftop solar for small and residential users. The meeting will also explore solutions for a way forward.
CSE's renewable energy programme has been working extensively to help shape policies and build public awareness to accelerate renewable energy deployment, strengthen energy access for the poor, and facilitate creating opportunities for people for making best use of the technology.
