How forest communities are using the Community Forest Resource Rights (CFRR) provision in the FRA to reclaim their ownership rights

Since 2012, there has been a significant rise in the number of forest communities and villages demanding community forest resource rights (CFRR). As more forest communities demand the right to take charge of their forests, state governments and the forest bureaucracy remain reluctant to let go. The two-day Regional Media Briefing Workshop in Bhubaneswar on this subject was attended by over 45 journalists from across the country.
