Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is one of Asia’s leading research and advocacy organization working in the field of environment protection. CSE has set up a state-of-the-art laboratory for Environment monitoring, septage management and food contamination. The laboratory is situated at CSE’s residential campus at Nimli, Alwar, Rajasthan – about 120 km from Delhi and 85 km from Gurugram. CSE also provides to and fro transport service for the staff willing to travel from Nimli to Delhi NCR on all working days.
The Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art equipments for microbial analysis and testing & monitoring of air, water and food contaminants, including Gas Chromatograph with Mass Detector (GC-MS), High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS), QuantStudio5 (Real Time PCR) & DNR Bio-Imaging System for Metagenomics Study, UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Bomb Calorimeter study etc.
Job profile
The researcher will work in the pollution monitoring and food contamination unit of the Environment Monitoring Laboratory. She/he will be involved in designing cutting-edge research studies and carrying out sampling and analysis of organic/ inorganic pollutants in food and environmental samples.
Qualification and experience
(1) FSM & Molecular Biology Laboratory Division
No. of positions : 2
Experience : Minimum of 3 years experience in reputed Microbiology/ Environmental Lab. Experience in Metagenomics study will be preferred. Candidate should be familiar with laboratory data/information management systems & Lab NABL accreditation procedure.
Qualification – PhD / M.Sc in Microbiology/Biotechnology.
Job Description: Involvement in projects on Faecal Sludge Management & Waste water treatment.
The Environment Monitoring Laboratory has set-up a laboratory for Faecal Sludge/ Septage management. This lab is involved in the characterization of Faecal Sludge/ Septage, monitoring of decentralized wastewater/ faecal sludge treatment systems, conducting cutting-edge research and carrying out documentation on decentralized technologies and knowledge support on demonstration projects in targeted areas.
The Researcher, will be responsible for coordinating and managing the faecal sludge/ septage management laboratory. The job profile also includes managing and carrying out sampling and analysis of faecal sludge/ septage samples, development of protocols for faecal sludge characterization and performance testing of decentralized treatment technologies, thus helping in designing and maintenance of wastewater and septage management systems.
(2) Food Toxins Laboratory Division
No. of position : 1
Experience : Expertise in Chromatography for handling LC/MS-MS, HPLC, GCMS etc. Candidate should be familiar with laboratory data/information management systems and Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP). Experienced candidates on documentation & validation of analytical methods as per ISO/NABL norms will be preferred.
Qualification – PhD/M.Sc in Chemistry/B. Pharma.
Job Description: Research on residual analysis (Antibiotics & Pesticide residues along with metabolites) in Food & Environmental samples.
(3) Air, Noise & Radiation Pollution Lab Division
No. of position : 1
Experience : Having experience of sample collection from Stack Emission, Ambient Air, Soil & Water along with Lab Analysis of Environment Pollutants by Portable Equipment, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, AAS, GC etc. Candidate should be familiar with NABL accreditation procedure along with Lab data management system and validation of analytical methods adopted in Lab.
Qualification - M.Sc in Environment Sc./ M. Tech in Environment Sc.
Job Description: Analysis of Environmental Pollutants in Air, Soil, Solid Waste & Water.
