Researchers to work on Industry and Environment

Centre for Science and Environment requires researchers to work on industry and environment.

Centre for Science and Environment is an established non-profit institution known for its rigorous and scientific policy research and advocacy on environmental issues. 

The Industry & Environment Unit undertakes environmental rating of industries, conducts research and advocacy on cross-cutting industrial pollution issues, provides technical support to the local communities on pollution issues, works on regulatory reforms and imparts training to different groups including NGOs and regulators on a range of industrial pollution and regulatory issues. 

We invite applications for the following positions for this unit:

b) Senior Researcher: 

Job would entail making technical reports on issues related to industrial pollution, analysis of EIA reports and steering public campaigns. Thus knowledge of industrial pollution and environmental clearance process is a must. Experience in working on environmental audit and EIA would be an added advantage. Fluency in English speaking and writing skills is must. Candidate must be willing to travel, network and report on issues.

Engineering Graduates or Post Graduates in environmental engineering or environmental science with at least 5 years of experience may apply. 

c) Research Assistant: 

Job would entail organising training programmes, undertaking research for preparing training modules and assisting in analysis of technical reports. He/she should be comfortable in handling people and giving presentations. Knowledge of industrial pollution and experience of conducting capacity building programmes would be an added advantage.

Post Graduates in environmental science or management with experience of 1-2 years may apply. Freshers with the right attitude and aptitude can also apply. Fluency in English speaking and writing skills is must. Candidate must be willing to travel, network and report on issues.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
