Residential Training on Carbon Accounting, Auditing and Trading

As the global commitment to combat climate change intensifies, industries worldwide are under increasing pressure to reduce GHG emissions. In India, the rapid economic growth and rising consumer demand have led to a significant increase in energy but they also need to align with the country's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) target of reducing GHG intensity by 45 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. Achieving this ambitious goal requires industries to adopt meticulous carbon/GHG accounting, rigorous auditing, and effective trading mechanisms to monitor and manage their carbon footprint.

Centre for Science and Environment has developed an intensive four-day training course on Carbon: Accounting, Auditing & Trading aimed at empowering industries, consultants, regulators, and related professionals with the essential knowledge and skills needed for robust management of GHG emissions. This comprehensive course will delve into the principles and practices of carbon accounting, the methodologies for auditing carbon emissions, and the mechanisms of carbon trading. Participants will gain insights into international standards and best practices, learn to implement accurate carbon accounting systems, conduct thorough audits, and navigate the complexities of carbon markets.

By attending this training, industry stakeholders will be better equipped to take stock of their emissions, develop and implement strategies that not only comply with regulatory requirements but also enhance their competitive edge in the global market. The course will cover vital topics such as greenhouse gas inventory management, trading platforms, verification and validation processes, carbon markets (compliance and voluntary) with relevant case studies; all of which are crucial for achieving sustainability goals and contributing to a low-carbon future. The training would include hands on exercises on carbon accounting and auditing.
