Sensitization on initiatives of CSE-PSU & TSU-Bijnor at RCUES Workshop

CSE has participated in the virtual workshop on solid waste management organized by RCUES Lucknow in response to COVID-19 for the Municipal Officials of Urban Local Bodies in Uttar Pradesh. Representatives form 60 Urban Local Bodies of Uttar Pradesh have participated in the workshop.

The objective of workshop was to acquaint the participants with the need and importance of SWM during pandemic times, to familiarize the participants with the various safety measures to be adopted for an effective SWM in light of COVID 19 and to educate the participants about the various techniques and method for creating the awareness among the citizen about their roles and responsibilities

CSE-TSU support to Bijnor Nagar Palika Parishad; sanitary workers in the distribution of PPE; IEC posters along with training on correct procedure of wearing PPE was acknowledged; appreciated by Mr AK Gupta, Additional Director RCUES

RCUES workshop also presented the ‘highlights of COVD-19 Response in the state of Uttar Pradesh’ compiled by CSE. They appreciated CSE efforts for doing mass campaign through Radio FM talk show, IEC collaterals and training for sanitation workers on PPE. The workshop promoted the initiatives by CSE as an example to other ULBs and insisted upon replicating similar activities in their respective ULBs.
