Social Centre for Rural Initiative and Advancement (SCRIA)

SCRIA has been working in semi-arid and arid areas of Rajasthan and Haryana since 1979. They are involved in organising rural communities, especially women, and promote integrated development. They have aided communities in reviving and creating water harvesting structures (watersheds, traditional tanks, rooftop rainwater harvesting, natural resource management) for drinking and irrigational purposes.  Micro-finance is also provided to promote self-governance and livelihoods development.
Stress is laid on participatory approach for effective, inclusive, self-reliant sustainable development enhancing village level organizational capacities.
Geographical area: 1800 villages in the districts of Rewari, Mohindergarh, Jhajjhar in Southern Haryana and Alwar, Churu, Bikaner in Northern Rajasthan.

Vasudha Vikas Sansthan (VVS)
VVS has worked extensively in the areas of sanitation, socio-economic empowerment and watershed development. At the same time it is also active in health, HIV and AIDS, education and livelihood management sectors. In 2007, they forayed into the area of water quality especially working on fluoride concentration. They are also involved in conducting research studies, designing village hygiene and sanitation plan and district health plans.  Their interventions are devoted for the weaker sections of the society.
 
Geographical Area: Jhabua, Dhar, Badwani, Khargone, Dewas, Khandwa districts of Madhya Pradesh and Ranchi and East Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand.

Janhit Foundation
The Janhit Foundation is actively engaged in promoting human welfare through environmental protection. Their key areas of work revolve around groundwater quality, safe drinking water, river water protection, water conservation, promoting sustainable agriculture through organic farming, environmental education and child rights for marginalized communities. They work through scientific research, campaigns, advocacy and grass-root level community involvement.
Janhit focuses on strengthening local communities through active participation in the decision making process to achieve sustainable development for the community as a whole. They believe in empowering local people  to ensure control over their natural resources.

Geographical area: Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar districts of western Uttar Pradesh. Pockets of Punjab and Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
