In our climate-risked world, environmental education takes on a central role. It equips individuals with the knowledge and awareness to understand the environmental issues of today and the civic action skills to combat the impacts at individual and community levels.
Centre for Science and Environment’s Green Schools Programme (GSP) has been working with schools, teachers, and students from across the country to foster a deeper understanding of climate change, its impacts, its linkages to contemporary environmental issues, and the potential solutions and proactive steps that can be taken to address these challenges.
After the successful implementation of the 2023 GSP Audit and receiving record school submissions from the state of Punjab, CSE, in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) under the Environment Education Programme of MoEF&CC, is organizing a two-day workshop. This workshop is exclusively designed for hand-picked district school coordinators from the districts of Punjab to help them bolster and continue the discourses and teachings on environmental education in schools. The workshop will delve deep into CSE’s Green Schools Programme and explore the avenues it offers for environment education in schools.
