Training Programme on Water Sensitive Urban Design and Planning

Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), India in collaboration with Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) conducted a five day international training programme on “Water Sensitive Urban Design and Planning (WSUDP)” from 16-20th January, 2017. 27 state and non-state practitioners across seven African countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Malawi, Somalia and Gambia) participated in the training programme to learn about WSUDP as an approach to identify rainwater, storm water and waste water as resource rather than nuisance.
Date: 14 to 16 July, 2015 The Water Programme at Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), recently conducted a three day training programme on "Water Sensitive Design and Planning: Towards Sustainable Urban Development" on July 14-16, 2015. It was organized under the "Capacity Building of Urban Local Body" (CBULB) programme sponsored by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India.
As a designated “Centre of Excellence” (CoE) by the Ministry of Urban Development (GOI), under the “Capacity Building of Urban Local Bodies” (CBULB) scheme in the area of sustainable water management- The Calendar of CoE deliverables (2015-16) has been finalised. The attached calendar showcases training programmes, seminars / workshops and exposure visits under the following new key themes: (1) Septage Management (2) Urban Lake Management (3) Water Sensitive Design and Planning (4) Water Efficiency and Conservation and (5) Energy efficiency in urban wastewater management.
