Wood is an important natural resource. In a developing country like India, on the one end of the spectrum, fuel wood continues to be the primary source of energy for millions of (mostly rural) citizens, while on other end of the spectrum, a healthy GDP growth rate ensures that a bourgeoning middle class craved for the most modern of wooden utilities, from modular kitchens to the latest designs in furniture.
This report is an outcome of another report. In 2015, the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) issued guidelines for the participation of the private sector in afforestation of degraded forests.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has been entrusted with preserving and improving the forest wealth of the country in the interest of its citizens and national ecological security.
