Nagaland first to use waste tech for roads

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): Pollution authorities in Nagaland have refuted a news report stating Meghalaya to be the first state in the North Eastern region to use bitumen and waste plastic to pave roads. Online Environmental Management

To make things easier for the industries the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has come up with a facility for online submission of environmental statement. The industries can now fill the Form V concerning environmental compliance online on the MPCB’s website. The filed data can be filtered by MPCB as per Region, Industry Type, Sub Industry Type, Industry Category and Sub Industry Category.

Builders face the wrath of RSPCB

Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) came harsh on as many as 53 builders for violating norms.  The builders from Jaipur failed to seek permission from the Board to construct buildings breaching the Environment Protection Act, 1986 which requires the proponent to get a go ahead from the Sate Environmental Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) for construction  in or more than 20,000 sq m area.

National Green Tribunal: A new beginning for environmental cases?

National Green Tribunal or the Environmental Court is not a new concept. Different courts in the country have recommended the establishment of Environmental Court to take up the cases related to environmental degradation. In M.C Mehta vs. Union of India case in 1986, Supreme Court observed that environmental cases involve assessment of scientific data.
