A filthy affair of Ooty Lake

UDHAGAMANDALAM, July 30: A study conducted by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has rated Ooty Lake as one of the most polluted water bodies in the state. The study states that the quality of water in the lake is unsuitable for potable purposes.

No poultry farm in 50-mt radius of residential zone in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jul 29: No poultry farm in Haryana should be located within 50-metre radius of a residential zone and 200 metre from a major water course, it was officially stated today. All poultry farms have been directed to raise a green belt around, minimise waste and refrain from open burning or indiscriminate dumping of any dead bird, feathers and unused material.

Pollution Control Board organizes workshop on 'new and renewable energy and its applications'

Hyderabad, July 28: Industrial effluents, excessive use of pesticides, population explosion and domestic sewerage are the four most important reasons for increase in the level of pollution in the city, observed B Madhusudana Rao, joint chief environmental engineer with the state Pollution Control Board (PCB) on Saturday. Rao was delivering the key note address during a workshop on 'new and renewable energy and its applications' organized by the board's cleaner production cell.

KSPCB to build pool of waste management professionals

SC slams MCD on Yamuna river pollution
