Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) is organizing three days training of trainers on “Characterization of Wastewater from Decentralized Treatment Systems” for BMGF grantees, private and public sector players, researchers, NGOs etc. Selection of participants would be on first come first serve basis as there are 20 seats available. This is the first training for participants followed by two more trainings that would result in participants achieving a holistic understanding of the subject.
Note- It is mandatory for selected participants to attend all three training programmes. After completion of the training, participants will be presented with a certificate.
Aim
Decentralized wastewater treatment (DWWT) systems can be sensible and viable solutions for communities of any size and demography. Monitoring of wastewater quality plays an important role in performance evaluation of DWWT systems. Wastewater characterization in terms of key performance parameters is essential for monitoring and maintaining the proper functioning of DWWT systems. The focus of this ToT is to endow the trainers on sample collection and its preservation from decentralized treatment system, analysis of the samples for their characterization, and data analysis.
Outcomes/Objectives
On completion of the training the participant trainers will be able to:
Perform sample collection from decentralized wastewater treatment systems
To understand the importance of sample preservation
Use the available equipments used for wastewater characterization
Interpretation of data
Monitor the performance of decentralized wastewater treatment systems
Logistics
CSE will support the accommodation and travel of registered participants, maximum of 2 participants per organization are allowed.
