Center for Science and Environment (CSE) and Water Aid Bangladesh (WAB) are jointly organizing a 4 day training programme for capacity building of the practitioners, academicians and government officials from Bangladesh on ‘Decentralized wastewater treatment (DWWT)’.
The sixth training is part of various activities conducted by CSE as knowledge partner jointly with WaterAid Bangladesh and towards creating enabling environment for mainstreaming sustainable and affordable decentralized wastewater treatment including reuse in Bangladesh and across South Asia.
The aim and objectives of the training programme are as follows:
Aim:
To develop cadre of practitioners with knowledge, skills and attitude for mainstreaming sustainable and affordable urban wastewater treatment including local reuse in Bangladesh.
Objectives:
Understand the issues and challenges of wastewater treatment
Update knowledge on existing / upcoming reforms, policies, standards, best management practices for efficient sewage treatment.
Develop skills to plan, design and implement decentralized wastewater treatment systems including local reuse
Awareness on potential and benefits of mainstreaming DWWT including reuse in Bangladesh
Target Groups:
The target group for this workshop will be practicing engineers, architects, academicians from universities and officials from government agencies like Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) across Bangladesh.
