Date: From 10th to 12th July 2018
Venue: Centre for Science and Environment, 41, Tughlakabad Institutional Area New Delhi-110062, India
Mapping excreta of a city is increasingly used toanalyze the sanitation in urban areas. An excreta flow diagram (also often described as shit flow diagram), can help to achieve this by offering a new and innovative way to engage sanitation experts, political leaders and civil society in coordinated discussions about excreta management in their city.
SFD is a tool to readily understand and communicate visualizing how excreta physically flows through a city or town. It shows how excreta is or is not contained as it moves from defecation to disposal or end-use, and the fate of all excreta generated. An accompanying report describes the service delivery context of the city or town. For more information on SFDs visit sfd.susana.org.
The School of Water and Waste, CSE, is organized a three days training on “Preparation of SFD” at Centre for Science and Environment, 41, Tughlakabad Institutional Area New Delhi-110062, India.

Working on a Sanitation Programme, SFD would help to understand the gaps in the value chain. My strength with regard to data collection, interpretation, assumptions & analysis has been developed.

The course was presented in an enthusiasticway. Especially, I was not aware of Shit Flow Diagram (SFD) before joined this training course. SFD is a good tool for the Planners, Environmental Professionals and Consultants to draw a graphic flow diagram of any town which can play an important role in the town planning.
