Centre for Science and Environment’s Sustainable Buildings and Habitat Programme is conducting a two day certificate course on “Building Sense – Green Building Technologies and Management of Building Wastes”. The objective of the programme is to enable participants to adopt a common sense approach to green buildings, one that blends traditional wisdom with modern science.
The itinerary includes more than 8 sessions including classroom lectures, site visit, group exercises etc. The courses will highlight life cycle methodologies that include conservation techniques, environmental awareness in material reuse, performance tracking & benchmarking, and waste management. It helps the participants to understand sustainable principles and practices; and designing frameworks to enhance energy and environmental performance in the built sector. The nuances of these aspects would be elaborated through case studies and examples from across the country. To enable rooted learning across the table, the participants would be presenting and sharing their learning and perspectives based on the visits and lectures.
The interactive modules are designed to encourage participants to acquire a 360 degree understanding and hands-on experience to look for their own solutions for designing better buildings.
The programme will be conducted by eminent subject experts and CSE professionals.
Course Outline
Green building movement in the country with focus on policies and regulations
Setting a Green Mandate
Passive design, techniques and technologies for resource conservation in buildings
Energy efficiency in system and services including lighting, electro-mechanical, etc. with support of case studies
Renewable energy in buildings
Waste management in buildings including Solid waste, C&D waste, E- waste
Building performance tracking & benchmarking and asset management
Hands on exercise and field visit.
COURSE FEES
Rs 6,500/- for professionals.
Rs 4,500/- for students
This includes course material, lunch, beverage breaks, field visit and one year free subscription for Down To Earth, science and environment fortnightly magazine.
Note: Accommodation can be arranged nearby the training centre, would incur extra charges
