Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), is the designated National Key Resource Centre for the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India in the year 2013-14, to conduct training programmes and workshops in the area of rural drinking water and sanitation for PHED officials and PRI representatives in Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
The aim of the proposed training programme is to provide hand holding support to the PHED PRI representatives (rural engineers, technical coordinator’s, CDOs, DDOs, BDOs) and other key officials in planning, design and implementation of sustainability in rural sanitation with focus on decentralised wastewater treatment systems (individual / neighbourhood or village community level) facilities that can be operated as well as maintained by the communities at less cost.
The training will focus on planning and designing supported by case studies in and around target state and emerging knowledge and technology for sustainable solutions for rural sanitation.
