Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) invites participation in its Training on Advancing monitoring of emissions from on-road vehicles with remote sensing measurements: Lessons from the pilot study in Delhi on August 20-23, 2024 at Anil Agarwal Environment Training Institute (AAETI) in Nimli, Rajasthan and India Habitat Centre (IHC), Lodhi Road, New Delhi
Several cities have included remote sensing measurements in their respective clean air action plans for non-attainment cities. The Supreme Court had also directed the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to frame rules for implementation. As a result, AIS 170 has taken shape. These are very new areas of technology development and policy interventions, and this will require a deeper understanding of the measurement techniques and scope of its application and demonstration of the measurement strategy.
This 4-day programme will bring together government officials from concerned implementing departments and agencies for participation. The training will be based on detailed and technically rich modules and classroom sessions and interaction with the leading experts in the field. It will culminate in a stakeholder workshop that will bring together the national and global experts as well as the implementing agencies in cities to understand the strategies for upgrading the on-road and on-board emissions measurement from vehicles. This will also include the sharing of the results from the pilot demonstration of remote sensing measurements that were organised by the International Council on Clean Transportation along with the Department of Transport, NCT Delhi. CSE is a collaborator in this initiative. This is a very special event that has been customised for the city level officials from the concerned departments and agencies.
