Knowledge Exchange Programme on Urban Sanitation Best Practices, Challenges and Opportunities

Event has been completed

In October 2023, CSE and the Ministry of Water and Energy, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a knowledge partnership. The partnership aims to support inclusive and sustainable approaches to water, sanitation, used water management, technology, treatment solutions, collaborative research, and policy development suitable for countries in the Global South.

Under this partnership, a CSE team had visited Ethiopia in February 2024. To keep the interaction and the flow of knowledge and information active, a team from Ethiopia’s ‘Six Towns Sanitation Improvement Program’ at the Ministry of Water and Energy will be visiting India in July. The purpose of the visit:

  • Get an overview of the FSM work done in India, through exposure visits to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh (UP) to see operational FSM projects.
  • Get a conceptual understanding of sanitation systems and the lessons from practical implementation experience in India.
  • Get an understanding of the criticality of having enabling policy, norms and bye-laws at city level.
